| High Intermediate to Advanced Level -If you are new to story writing, you should begin with Creative Writing 101. Writing for children is not the same as writing for adults, and it is certainly not any easier. This class will study outlining, basic plot for children, point of view as it pertains to children, and Show, Don't Tell. It will also teach you how to write believable dialogue for children, and how to build characters that children can identify with. And finally, you will learn proper scene construction and how to edit your work. This course requires you to write three stories within eight weeks, and you will have a finished work in hand upon certification. Students must have a good command of English, know proper punctuation, good sentence structure, and be able to accept constructive criticism. Expect 90 minutes of homework a week. |
